Recommended Reading: The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook

"The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook" by cutie/ruggedly sexy author, David De Rothschild is truly a great read. If you remember, the Live Earth concerts that were broadcast across the globe a few years back included many well-known artists such as the Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ludacris, Keane and many more. The book was originally intended as a companion to the Live Earth concerts, but nonetheless, it contains lots of great info and even though a few years old, contains facts and relevant information that still stands today.

book-cover.jpgI'm recommending this book because it is not what you expect. You might expect a book like this to scare the pants off of you with threats about what will happen to your offspring if you don't solve all the world's environmental problems by yesterday. In fact, I found the book very easy to read, it captivated my attention, I learned a lot of interesting facts, and the best part -- this book is quite humorous. I chuckled out loud (COL?) many times at the quirky way the ideas and concepts for helping the environment were laid out. Even the illustrations were quite hilarious!

The book focuses on the concept that every person can do little things to help our environment. When the littlest things, like cutting back on water usage are done on a global scale, the positive effects are literally life changing for the entire Earth. The book suggests that if no action is taken, life, as we know it will continue to turn for the worse. The good news is so many individuals, businesses and organizations have already accepted that change is necessary and we must take action to save the Earth and ourselves. The book offers creative ideas (both big and small) and facts to arm you with knowledge so you can make conscious, environmentally friendly decisions in your day-to-day lifestyle.

One last great thing about this book -- if you buy it, the author's royalties will benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection (a nonprofit, non-partisan organization). What a sweetheart David De Rothschild is! Oh, and here's a photo of and info about the author:

David-De-Rothschild.jpgDavid de Rothschild is the 28-year-old founder and creator of Sculpt the Future, an independently run initiative that aims to raise environmental awareness and action through education. He is one of the judges for the New Statesman's Edge Upstart Award and The Observer Ethical Award. David was recently voted as a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum and an "Emerging Explorer" for National Geographic's class of 2007.

I'm going to pick up this book, because I love it when we are given ideas on how the average person can help take care of Mother Earth.

He is pretty hot, too! :P
