I really wish I were in the market for a new water heater. I saw an ad for this new GE energy saving water heater that seemed really cool. Every appliance in my home is GE, and I have to say I've been very satisfied with the quality over the years. Apparently, out of all the appliances in most homes, electric water heaters use the most energy of them all. Good to know if you DO happen to be in the market for an electric water heater.
With this particular energy efficient water heater, the cost to operate is 62% less than the cost to operate standard electric water heaters. This is great of course, because less energy consumed can reduce your carbon footprint! I also like how it is more high tech looking - rather than the mysterious oversized soda can in the corner of the garage. And it gets even better - it has an advanced control panel with great efficiency option settings, such as 'High Demand Mode' and a 'Vacation Setting' so that you are able to optimize the energy savings based around your lifestyle.
An important feature to note is that this appliance runs solely on electricity and not natural gas. Natural gas has traditionally been the optimal/cheapest choice for water heaters. That being said, natural gas is not always an available option to everyone, so electricity-sucking water heaters have been the solution. This product could potentially make a huge difference for those people.
Many factors weigh into your water heater's energy consumption, but from what I can tell, this energy efficient electric water heater may be somewhat or closely comparable to the operating costs of a traditional natural gas water heater. Either way, I'm glad to see green products being developed and companies that keep both the consumer and the environment in mind.

It is freaking orgasmic in that it is both beautiful and environmentally friendly. I am going to take a deeper look into this. I love your column.
Gladys, I'm glad to have influenced you to look into an energy-efficient product! Thank you for reading what I have to say!
