Scientists at a university in Texas have found a way to produce gasoline from Texas coal more cheaply and without emitting any pollution. While this is not the answer for the long run, it could at least buy time until newer green technologies can replace them.
I think it's a step toward the right direction and will create domestic jobs that are so desperately needed by many people. However, we can't forget that the Earth cannot sustain on burning fossil fuels to support an advanced, growing population.
