I'm as heterosexual as the come; I like men. Always have, always will. I have, on occasion (ok, about once a week), almost drifted my car into a ditch ogling gaggles of bronzed, toned young men working in the sun, flexing muscles coated with a sheen of glistening sweat...
....
What were we talking about? Oh ya, my heterosexuality. I'm pretty committed to it. There are, however, some women on this planet that are such wondrous examples of the feminine form that they could easily tear that commitment to tatters. Allow me introduce you to the woman who currently has me wondering if lesbianism might be for me: Christina Hendricks.
Currently making a name for herself with her portrayal as the sizzling hot office manager Joan Holloway on AMC's Mad Men, the recently married Miss Hendricks has made apperances on shows like Firefly and ER and is about as womanly as they come. Her natural curves, creamy skin and deliriously plump lips all add up to create a dazzling and pant-inducing dream come true for most men and probably an equal amount of women. I'd venture to guess that she's never set foot into either a cosmetic surgeons office or a Weight Watcher's meeting. I consider it a minor miracle that she's managed to shake off the urge to conform to the current expectations that every woman on TV or film should look like a bag of antlers. She looks healthy and most definitely female.
Wake up, Hollywood! We're tired of seeing these cadaverous waifs you call starlets weakly drifting across our screens, barely enough energy or body fat to withstand a brief spring shower. Let the poor things eat a meal or two. Then maybe they'll have enough substance in their bodies to not need lip plumping injections, cheek implants or boob jobs!
And Christina, if you read this, you keep on doing what you're doing. Stay confident, stay proud, and, for the love of all that is holy, stay sexy!
