I am just starting to get Twitter. I know that I'm late and that it's been around for a while, and I've even had an account for a year or so. I just couldn't get into tweeting every move in my life - I mean, who cares? My life is boring, Twitter-wise. So what if I've had too many Stellas in a short amount of time.
I'm not a wallflower, but I'm not a socialite. I like fantasizing about and reading about physical fitness, but can't get into the gym/athletic scene. I do everything realistically possible to be a friend to Mother Earth - I even break down our empty soda bottles and Betty Crocker Three-Cheese Potatoes boxes so I can minimize the amount of landfill space that is contributory to us. Boring.
Now that I have my own phenomenally sweet website though, I'm looking at Twitter in a different light. I was previously under the assumption that Twitter-for-businesses would just be bullshit promo, but since I started digging in and following people I respect and appreciate - I'm seeing that their Tweets aren't just marketing bs. They are actually interesting and contain tons of usable content.
I love it!
Also, I'm finding my own Twitter style. I like it when people Tweet on a regular basis, but not too much. One news site that I'm following tweets so freakin' much that I skip over a lot of their stuff to see what less prolific tweeters are saying. I don't want to be one of those who says whatever comes to mind first. I learned that was a bad idea, several years ago.
It is a great tool for keeping up with the info that you want to keep up with. It is nice to get the tidbits that you never know exist, except for Twitter.
So look out. Hopefully YoLadies will not be so annoying in the number of updates as HuffPo - and now that I've realized that behind every good woman is a good man, I've dumped the idea of only following the ladies and we have some great men on our Twitter list, too.
