Like most Americans, I love NASA and all that they represent. The great missions and stories and photos and accomplishments of our beloved Space Agency, love them all. But, I super-love it that a relatively hot and adventurous British Billionaire is leading the charge to create space travel for the masses. Okay, so it's for the small mass of people who make more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime, but still...you gotta admit, it's pretty cool.
Virgin Galactic took two of its ships on test flights over the Mojave Desert yesterday, and according to Sir Richard Branson, all went brilliantly. Space.com writes that the White Knight 2 Carrier and Space Ship 2 shuttle, built by the Scaled Composites team, "flew for roughly three hours. Conditions at Mojave for the test flight were described as being a beautiful day with a slight breeze."
It sounds poetic, almost. Reading that description, I think I can feel the slight breeze blowing through my hair and silky, flowy dress as I walk up the steps to enter the shuttle, accept my fruity cocktail, and settle in for some serious stargazing.

Yeah, I'm thinking it would definitely make your day better than usual, that's for sure!
